This Day Again?!

Truman: Good Morning!     Lady: Morning!     Little Girl: Good Morning!     Truman: Oh, and in case I don’t see ya, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and Good Night!

DJ No. 1: Ok campers, rise and shine! — and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooooold out there today.     DJ No. 2: It's cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?     DJ No. 1: Not hardly!

Truman Burbank and Phil Connors will be etched eternally into the minds of the children of the 90’s as they recall their escapade’s in The Truman Show and Groundhog Day. For those of us who not only grew up in the 90’s, but are now living in 2020, we feel like we are experiencing those days, every single day of our life. It is monotonous, mundane, nerve racking, getting old quick, driving us insane; you can place in your own cliché. But, as we are getting use to this “new normal”, it has caused many of us to reprioritize people and things in our lives.
We may be doing the same things day in and day out, with the same people, at the same time, you may even have your own channel, but prayerfully, all that we are doing now, in this never changing, never ending day, is redeeming the time that the Lord has given.
So, what are somethings that we can be doing as we have more time to share?

1. Read the Scriptures – Many options to choose from, here are a few ideas.
a. Start a plan to read through the Scriptures between now and the end of the year.
b. Start a Small Group Bible Study that focuses on one book of the Bible.
c. Read through the book of Proverbs over the next 30 days.
d. Read through one book of the Bible over the next 30 days. If small enough, read it multiple times to gain more insight into what the Lord is saying and doing.

2. Grab a biography of Christians in Church History or missionaries that that has been influential in the faith.
a. 10 Who Changed the World by Daniel L. Akin
b. Shadow of the Almighty: The Life and Testimony of Jim Elliot, by Elisabeth Eliot
c. Christian Heroes: Then and Now (Various Missionaries) by Janet and Geoff Benge
d. The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom
e. Jonathon Edwards: A Life by George M. Marsden
