Thank you for your interest in the Music Ministry at Grace Baptist Church. We currently have a Worship Team (consisting of vocalists, keyboard, cajon and guitar) on Sunday mornings and other services as well as a choir, as the LORD leads, for special seasons of the year (currently Easter and Christmas). The songs that we sing are what some would call a blended style of worship incorporating both newer songs and choruses as well as older hymns. Specials of readings, poems, solos, instrumentals and small groups are welcome.
Please contact our Worship Pastor, Richard Hays – email@example.com, if you are interested.
Philosophy of Ministry
We believe that just like the Cross has both a crossbeam (horizontal) and a support (vertical) aspect so should Ministry in Music.
Colossians 3:16 (ESV) tell us to, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” This is the horizontal aspect of praise where we encourage each other in regards to who God is and what He has done and will do.
1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) states that, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”. This is where we transition to the vertical aspect of Worship. 1 Peter 2:4-5 (ESV) “As you come to Him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” and that sacrifice as Romans 12:1(ESV) reminds us, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” is ourselves.
